I dusted off my copy of Eclipse, scratched my head, did some typing and some more head-scratching. Went into Illustrator and ended up with a new release of How Long for Android. Version 2.1 contains AdMob advertising. Next up though and the root of the head scratching is - How Long Pro. This will be completely ad free, and mirror How Long Standards functionality.
Next up was the new Icons for How Long, these should fit in with all those of you that are running Android 2 or higher.
Moving forward though I’m putting together a Widget for How Long, and looking into completely revamping the way it works so that finally all of you that have been asking can have Multiple timers.
More information on How Long can be found on the How Long page.
Super nice Wordpress theme, although it is wordpress, there’s always a downside.

It was crazy, I finally launched TrackTime under NimbleWorks, I’ve had access to this for the past month or so, and its taken that long to put everything in place. The infrastructure website everything. It’s now done.
It monitors application usage, iTunes history and web browsing, to allow the user to pass through multiple sites, from internet to program, without the task of manually recording links. Most importantly, however, TrackTime allows users to assign time spent to projects to help in billing clients or simply understanding how they use their day.
Pretty much sum up TrackTime in one hit. Next on the list is to promote and improve in equal measure. The NimbleWorks website will be changing day by day to improve it, the product is under active development. I’ve started work on the 2.0 version so if you have any hint tip or suggestions for TrackTime then please email support@nimbleworks.co.uk

I work best when working on small discrete tasks, large projects are just mountains of fear. I dance round the base procrastinating and avoiding starting any work. When I do start work I start lots of different jobs, never really getting anything done, with a massive sense of underachievement to boot.
What kills my enthusiasm and drive for projects is this sense of under achievement, but how to combat it? Something I am trying out at the moment is the Trickle List from Rands In Repose. I’ve picked 5 things:
Not much then, this as a tick chart on the wall lets me know if I’m working towards my goals. Nimble Promo, there isn’t much to promote at the moment, but that should start to change in the next week or two. Anything from emailing a journalist or blogger with promo codes to leaving a comment on a blog. Selling software is just about getting it in front of enough people, soon enough someone will say “Yes I need that”.
Product R and D, unfortunately I’m not in a position that I can spend all day working on indie software. I have a day job that I love, and a time consuming hobby that I can’t give up. I also want to build new, cool, interesting and useful things. I need to spend a little time each day doing that. Yesterday it was emailing a few people about localisation for my apps. Today I’m yet to do something.
Bike, my hobby and first true love although the relationship is going through a rough patch at the moment. A few years ago I had dreams of turning pro, and for a few sweet months touched the hem of that world. Since then I’ve lost some passion but still can’t give it up. Still I should ride everyday it’s good for the soul if nothing else.
Write 200 words, my writing is appalling, my grammar and punctuation is almost non existent. The only way to improve is to write, write, write, write. Writing is a painful experience for me, I want to be better and am fully aware of my faults which I find compels me to not write. I also want to edit and perfect those 200 daily words. When I read 37Signals advising people to hire the author of the better written CV, I know I wouldn’t stand a chance.
Reading has for a long time been a constant form of entertainment, anything from cheap and nasty Wilbur Smith paperbacks to the encyclopaedia Britannica. Yesterday evening I read Rework from 37Signals and today I’ll probably read Orwells “Down and Out in Paris and London” from cover to cover at the prompting of @tajlm
Ticking off each of these things makes me realise that yes every day I am learning something new, doing something to better myself and working towards my ambitions.
